See which promos actually paid back.

Promotional efficiency measurement for pet retail.

Measured uplift versus baseline at store level, including the stores that ran the promotion and delivered nothing.

What this module will do

Petview's promotional efficiency module is in development, following the category & share and availability modules. It will measure promotional uplift versus baseline at store level across UK pet speciality retail, showing which promotions delivered incremental sales, which merely subsidised volume that would have sold anyway, and which stores ran the deal without moving a unit. The output is a sharper promotional investment decision next time.

Why averages hide the answer

A promotion that "delivered 20% uplift" is an average across hundreds of stores. Underneath, the same deal typically splits three ways: stores where it genuinely recruited new buyers, stores where it discounted volume that would have sold at full price, and stores where execution failed with no feature, no stock and no uplift. Separating those three is precisely the job store-level measurement exists to do.

The questions the module is built to answer

  • What was the true incremental uplift of each promotion versus a store-level baseline?
  • Which stores ran the promotion and delivered nothing, and was that an execution or a demand problem?
  • What happened after the promotion: did volume hold, or did the deal simply pull sales forward?
  • How did competitor activity in the same window affect the read?
  • Which promotional mechanics earn their funding in my sub-category, and which don't?

Shape it before it ships
